Some people think travelling in a group means giving up freedom. In practice, it is the opposite: you gain time, peace of mind and company, and you reach places that would be much more work on your own. For many people, especially after 60, group travel is the lightest and safest way to see Brazil and the world.
What is already taken care of on a group trip?
Planning a trip is almost as much work as taking it. Accommodation, transport, itinerary, schedules, tickets, restaurants, the unexpected. On an expedition, all of this is already sorted before you leave home.
You do not have to drive on unfamiliar roads, look for parking, make yourself understood in another language at the border or worry about whether the hotel is any good. You just pack your bag and enjoy yourself. This is perhaps the biggest advantage: the trip feels relaxed from the very first minute.
Is group travel safer?
Travelling with others is travelling more safely. There is always someone from the team nearby to help with whatever you need, from documents to medicine, from the hotel to the hospital, should it ever be necessary.
In a group, no one is left behind. Stops are planned, schedules respect everyone's pace, and you are always among people who look out for one another. For those who travel with a health concern, or who simply prefer not to be alone far from home, this makes all the difference. We say more about this in Comfort and safety on the road.
Is it cheaper to travel in a group?
When the group is large, the cost of several things is shared. The coach, the guide, some entrance fees and the organisation itself work out cheaper per person than if you arranged everything separately. You travel well without paying a high price for it.
The best part: the company
Ask anyone who has been on an expedition what their best memory is. Almost always the answer is not a place, it is a person. It is the conversation on the coach, the laughter at dinner, the new friend who appeared without warning.
Travelling in a group is also a way of looking after your mind and your heart. Being among people, laughing, swapping stories and making plans is good at any age, and even more so when daily life can sometimes feel lonely. We wrote a whole article about this: The friendship that begins on the road.
Who is group travel for?
For almost everyone, really. But it suits especially well:
- those who do not want to, or cannot, drive long distances;
- those who travel alone and prefer company;
- those who like to explore without the stress of organising;
- those who want to visit more distant places safely;
- those who have travelled independently and tired of the tedious part.
How do you take the first step?
If you have never been on an expedition, start with a shorter trip close to home to see what it is like. After that, it is hard to stop. See the upcoming departures or get in touch: we will help you choose the trip that suits you.
