Chico Xavier was born in Pedro Leopoldo on 2 April 1910, moved to Uberaba on 5 January 1959 and died in the city on 30 June 2002. He spent 43 years there, which is why Uberaba has become the destination for anyone who wants to learn about the life of the medium who wrote more than 450 books by psychography (writing attributed to spirits), from Parnaso de Além-Túmulo in 1932 to Nosso Lar in 1944, and who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1981.
This is the itinerary our caravan follows in Uberaba, with the address and hours of each place, for those travelling with us and for those going independently. The hours are those published by the venues themselves and may change: before each departure, we confirm everything.

Where is the Memorial Chico Xavier in Uberaba?
The Memorial Chico Xavier is at Avenida João XXIII, 2011, in Parque das Américas, Uberaba, Minas Gerais.
Address: Avenida João XXIII, 2011, Parque das Américas.
Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. Closed on Mondays.
Admission: free, but the ticket must be collected in advance through the Sympla platform, with a day and time booked.
The Memorial opened in 2016 and reopened in July 2024, after a complete renovation. It is not the house where he lived: it is a building designed to tell his story. It has an entrance room with projections of texts written by psychography, booths where you can hear Chico's own voice in recordings, a timeline of his life, personal belongings and the soup table, a reference to the charity he practised. It is the longest visit of the day.
Where is the Casa de Memórias e Lembranças Chico Xavier?
The Casa de Memórias e Lembranças Chico Xavier is at Rua Dom Pedro I, 165, in Parque das Américas, Uberaba, Minas Gerais, and was the medium's home until his death.
Address: Rua Dom Pedro I, 165, Parque das Américas.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 5:30 pm. Saturday, 8 am to 12 noon.
Admission: free.
This is the real house, where he lived until he died. His bedroom has been kept as it was: the bed, the slippers beside it, the berets, the glasses, the rosaries, the clothes and the books worn from use. The idea of turning the house into a museum was Chico's own, inspired by the Balzac museum in Paris, and it was carried forward by his adopted son, Eurípedes Higino dos Reis. It is the quietest visit of the caravan.
What is the Comunhão Espírita Cristã of Uberaba?
The Comunhão Espírita Cristã is the first Spiritist centre founded by Chico Xavier in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, a few months after he moved to the city.
Address: Rua Professor Eurípedes Barsanulfo, 185.
Founded on 18 April 1959, a few months after he moved to the city, it was the first Spiritist centre that Chico Xavier founded in Uberaba, together with Waldo Vieira and other companions. The times of the public meetings should be confirmed with the centre.
Grupo Espírita da Prece
It was at the Grupo Espírita da Prece that Chico Xavier received the public for decades, in meetings that brought together people from all over Brazil. The centre is still active, with public meetings. The address and hours published online do not match each other, so we do not repeat them here: before each caravan, we confirm directly with the centre which meeting the group can attend.

Where is Chico Xavier's tomb?
Chico Xavier's tomb is in the Cemitério São João Batista, on Avenida Maria Santana Borges, in Uberaba, Minas Gerais.
Address: Cemitério São João Batista, Avenida Maria Santana Borges, 1.
Hours: every day, 7 am to 6 pm, including public holidays.
On All Souls' Day (Dia de Finados) it is the most visited tomb in the city. Allow plenty of time, bring a flower if you wish and respect the silence of those beside you.
How long does it take, and how to combine it with Sacramento and Araxá
The four places in Uberaba fit into one full day, with lunch in the middle, if the order is well planned and the Memorial ticket is already booked. Sacramento, the city of Eurípedes Barsanulfo, is 75 kilometres away. Araxá, the city of the waters, is 117 kilometres away. That is the logic of our caravan: Uberaba as a base, one day for each neighbouring city, and rest in Araxá in the middle.
To understand how group travel works, read Spiritist caravan: what it is and how it works. To see how the most recent departure went, read how the Minas Espírita caravan went in July 2026. And the trip itself, departing from Porto Alegre, is at Uberaba and Chico Xavier from Porto Alegre.
