You may know Chico Xavier’s name without knowing what a visit to the Triângulo Mineiro involves. That is a perfectly good starting point. Curiosity travels well; it also takes up considerably less luggage space than the idea that you must already know everything.

Guatambu’s 10 to 18 November 2026 departure starts in Porto Alegre. Over nine days, it connects Sacramento, Conquista and Uberaba with two nights in Caldas Novas, Goiás. The reason to consider this route is the conversation between the places: education, community work, memory and a quieter final stay.

What a school can tell you about a town

Sacramento’s municipal information describes Colégio Allan Kardec as a museum, memorial and prayer centre associated with educator Eurípedes Barsanulfo. Approach it as a place where education and community history meet, rather than another building to tick off. The published programme also names a meeting with Alzira Amui; ask how it fits into this departure.

Gruta dos Palhares brings a different kind of attention. The municipality identifies its Botucatu Sandstone formation within a park. Seeing the park and entering the cave are different activities: the interior requires special permission. Knowing that beforehand makes for a better visit than arriving with an imaginary cave expedition in mind.

Three Uberaba stops, three reasons to listen

The itinerary includes Spiritist activities in Conquista, under the host institution’s guidance. In Uberaba, distinguish Casa da Sopa, Casa de Memórias and the Memorial. Ask what each preserves or does today. Objects, personal recollections and community activity offer different ways of understanding Chico Xavier’s legacy.

Some travellers come through faith; others accompany a relative or want cultural context. A thoughtful group visit leaves room for those differences. Religious participation is not a promise of healing or guaranteed individual attention.

Rest belongs in the itinerary too

Two nights at Hotel Morada das Águas form the Caldas Novas stage. This is Goiás, so the journey crosses two states. Leaving a little unfilled time here is a reasonable choice. Not every free afternoon needs its own appointment, and your suitcase may enjoy staying put as much as you do.

Read the price alongside the meal arrangements

The advertised starting price is BRL 3,390 per person. Listed services include sleeper-coach travel, a guide and travel agent throughout, accommodation with breakfast in Minas, and two nights in Caldas Novas with hotel meals. Lunches and dinners in Minas and personal expenses are additional. Request the precise Caldas meal and drinks coverage, room arrangement, boarding details and current price.

Our nine-day itinerary guide explains why an older departure is not a reliable daily schedule for this one. Tell the team which visits matter to you and what assistance you need. Ask about language support as well: an English article does not confirm an English-speaking guide.
